Stay at Serre Che Chalet in central Briançon. The ski area runs on through Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Le Monêtier, and the ski bus brings you back to the chalet in the evening.
Briançon is the town end of the valley, Serre Chevalier 1200. Pistes come into the centre, there is night skiing, and the old town is a UNESCO citadel with shops and restaurants. The train station has direct trains from Paris, including overnight sleepers, and Turin airport is about 1.5 hours away.
The chalet is in a quiet spot about a 10-minute walk from the lifts and about 5 minutes from the restaurants, bars and citadel. It sleeps 10 in five ensuite bedrooms. Catered weeks start from €650 per person. Self-catered is the whole chalet. Check-in is from 4:00 PM. Check-out is before 10:00 AM on the day you leave. See the chalet · Prices · Check dates
Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Le Monêtier-les-Bains are the other sectors of the same ski area. You ski across to them and come back to Briançon. Chantemerle has a bowling alley and a pizzeria for an evening out. Le Monêtier has the Grands Bains hot springs if you want a soak as well as the chalet hot tub. The piste map is on the Serre Chevalier page, and more on the town is on the Briançon page.
